The Cartridge fuse CA433 of DA Technology has been successfully applied in the overcurrent protection of the lithium battery formation system
Formation is also called activation. After the battery is manufactured, its internal positive and negative materials are activated through a certain charging method to improve the overall performance of the battery. Formation is a very complicated process, and it is also an important process that affects battery performance, because during the first charging of the battery, it is inevitable to form passivation covering the surface of the carbon electrode at the interface between the carbon negative electrode and the electrolyte. The thin layer is called the solid electrolyte interface membrane or SEI membrane. In order to form a good SEI film and high production efficiency, it is generally necessary to use chemical conversion cabinet control to realize charging management screening from small to large step current mode.
The following diagram is DA TECHNOLOGY CA433 applied in HI-V formation system
Since the unformed lithium battery may have bad risks, there may be overcurrent during formation, although there is an overcurrent protection circuit on the formation cabinet, but generally these protection circuits are detected by MCU sampling to detect the overcurrent of the lithium battery, and then control the MOS& Relay to turn on and off for achieving overcurrent protection. This kind of protection is commonly referred to as soft protection. It does not realize a real physical disconnection and has certain security risks. For example, when the overcurrent occurs, the MCU that controls the MOS or relay on and off has a software failure and cannot issue a command to open the circuit. The heat generated by the circuit is very likely to cause damage to the circuit of the formation device, or even fire. At this time, putting a fuse in series on the circuit can realize complete physical disconnection, which can effectively prevent the occurrent of this danger.
