Nippon Chemi-Con Added Products to Nonflammable Varistors SV Series for Low/Medium Electric Power Equipment
Nippon Chemi-Con has added products to its popular Nonflammable Varistors SV Series and expanded the product lineup for low electric power equipment and medium electric power equipment.
Ceramic varistors are protective elements that operate against abnormal voltage surges entering the circuit. If the varistor is destroyed due to input of surge energy that exceeds the resistance of the varistor, the external resin may ignite and the varistor itself may burn in the case of a general varistor. Nippon Chemi-Con has developed and commercialized nonflammable varistors SV Series which prevents the combustion of varistors caused by the ignition of coating resin and reduces the risk of equipment catching fire even under such circumstances.
To further expand the range of applications and usage, Nippon Chemi-Con has expanded the rated range. Until now, Nippon Chemi-Con products were widely used in white goods for emerging countries where electricity quality is unstable, and printers of domestic manufacturers. However, the newly added φ7 mm products for low electric power equipment targets white goods and lighting equipment for which there is a growing interest in safety, and the φ10 to 20mm high voltage products mainly target industrial equipment.
