Nippon Chemi-Con GOB, MXB and HSF Sereis Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with an Upper Category Temperature of 150℃
Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Radial Lead Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors GQB Series, SMD Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors MXB Series and radial lead type conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors HSF Series with an upper category temperature (heat resistance) increased to 150℃. These products are suited for automotive applications such as transmissions and electric water pumps which are expected to be used in high-temperature environments.
Nippon Chemi-Con has commercialized products with an enhanced heat resistance of 125℃ or 135℃ for automotive applications used in high-temperature environments, such as installations in engine rooms.
As the integration of mechanical and electrical equipment in automotive devices advances for the purpose of securing vehicle interior space and shortening wiring, applications requiring a higher heat resistance of capacitors are increasing. This is due to the mounting position of electronic substrates becoming closer to heat sources such as engines and motors. Against this backdrop, we have decided to develop and commercialize three product series with a heat resistance improved to 150℃.
■Radial lead type aluminum electrolytic capacitors GQB Series
The GQB Series consists of products with a rated voltage range of 25 to 35V and case sizes φ12.5 x 20 L to φ18 x 25 L mm.
We have increased the heat resistance to 150℃ from the conventional 135℃ by adopting an electrolyte with excellent thermal stability and sealing rubber with high heat resistance.

■SMD type aluminum electrolytic capacitors MXB Series
The MXB Series consists of products with a rated voltage range of 25 to 35V and case sizes φ12.5 x 13.5 L to φ18 x 21.5 L mm.
We have increased the heat resistance to 150℃ from the conventional 125℃ by adopting an electrolyte with excellent thermal stability and sealing rubber with high heat resistance.

The MXB Series was available as samples from April 2018. They were produced at Chemi-Con Iwate Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con)

■Radial lead type conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors HSF Series
The HSF Series has a rated voltage of 35V and a case size φ10 x 12.5 L mm. It has achieved an endurance guaranteeing 2,000 hours at 150℃ which was difficult with conventional electrolytic capacitors.
We have increased the heat resistance to 150℃ from the conventional 135℃ by adopting separator sheets and sealing rubber with high heat resistance.

The HSF Series was available as samples from June 2018. They were produced at Chemi-Con Yamagata Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con)
