Nippon Chemi-Con Developed Camera Module NCM-20-W Series for Immediate Detection Devices After Vehicle Reversing Motion
Nippon Chemi-Con has developed a Camera Module for use in devices that help prevent accidents that occur when a vehicle is operated in reverse.
Over the years, Nippon Chemi-Con has accumulated various technologies related to maximizing the optical performance of image sensors. As part of Nippon Chemi-Con's desire to share the benefits of Nippon Chemi-Con work with society, Nippon Chemi-Con has been engaged in the development of products for use in devices for immediate detection after vehicle reversing motion, which are increasingly becoming mandatory. By applying Nippon Chemi-Con's cumulative experience, Nippon Chemi-Con anticipates being able to develop a product suited for this application, which is expected to require compatibility with harsh operating environments. Based on Nippon Chemi-Con's current progress, Nippon Chemi-Con expects to receive increased consideration for this product.
Production will be conducted at the Nagaoka Plant of Chemi-Con Device Corp. (Nippon Chemi-Con 100% subsidiary), located in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

On June 29, 2021, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism announced that it would partially revise a draft Ministerial Ordinance for partially revising safety standards for road transport vehicles and partially revise a Notice outlining details of safety standards for road transportation vehicles.
NCM-20-W series
NCM-20-W is based on the concept of being embedded in devices for immediate detection after vehicle reversing motion (e.g., rearview monitors) and offers high resolution (2-3x resolution compared to previous products) and a wide-angle view. Nippon Chemi-Con also applied proprietary know-how for maximizing the optical performance of image sensors to provide drivers with clear images while operating a vehicle in reverse. This makes confirmation of the surrounding area easy, contributing to reduced stress and work hours for drivers.

With this product, Nippon Chemi-Con is aiming to use devices that comply with standards in Japan. Consult with us regarding the use of devices complying with the new United Nations Regulation (UNR158), which stipulates the requirements in the United Nations WP.29 (World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations).
