Development of Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors KVS/LVS Series Vibration Resistant Products for On-board Chargers
Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors KVS Series and LVS Series with improved vibration resistance.
Nippon Chemi-Con positions the car electronics market as a strategic market. These products are suited for on-board chargers for EVs and PHVs, where growth is expected in the future.
Nippon Chemi-Con has individually addressed the needs of Nippon Chemi-Con customers for such applications, but in response to growing needs, Nippon Chemi-Con has decided to mass-produce them as standard products. This is the first mass production of snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitors for on-board chargers.
Nippon Chemi-Con has achieved a vibration resistance performance of 10 to 2000Hz, two hours for each axis (X-Y-Z), and 15G vibration acceleration at the end of life (EOL) by embedding Nippon Chemi-Con proprietary specially structured pressure valve into the existing KMS Series and LXS Series.
Standard products of the KVS Series and LVS Series have a rated voltage range of 400 to 450V, case sizes φ30 x 25 Lmm to φ35 x 50 Lmm, and a capacitance range of 180 to 820µF.
[Samples and Mass Production]
The KVS Series and the LVS Series is scheduled to be available as samples from September 2016, and mass production is scheduled to start in October 2016. Production will be held at Chemi-Con Fukushima Corp. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con) Production also gradually start at Chemi-Con (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. as soon as the production system is prepared.

- Endurance: guarantees 3,000 hours at 105℃ (KVS) and guarantees 5,000 hours at 105℃ (LVS)

- Rated voltage range: 400 to 450V
- Capacitance range: 180 to 820µF
- Case size: φ30 x 25 to φ35 x 50 Lmm
- Rated ripple current: equivalent to the KMS/LXS Series
