Nippon Chemi-Con has added 80V products to SMD type Conductive Polymer Hybrid Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors HXA Series and HXB Series. The two Series are commercialized for automotive electronics and industrial equipment markets which require downsizing and higher reliability. Nippon Chemi-Con has also developed radial lead type HSA Series and HSB Series for the aforementioned capacitors to flexibly meet customer needs. 


The conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a type of capacitor with low ESR characteristics and excellent heat resistance from a conductive polymer, as well as oxide layer repairability from a liquid electrolyte. These capacitors have low ESR and high heat resistance and have also achieved a higher withstand voltage to fields that were difficult with conventional conductive polymer capacitors. 


Nippon Chemi-Con has developed SMD type products ahead of radial lead types, commercializing the HXA Series guaranteeing 4,000 hours at 125℃ and the HXB Series guaranteeing 5,000 hours at 105℃. Both Series have a rated voltage range of 16 to 63V and are mainly for the automotive electronics and industrial equipment markets. 


As power supplies particularly in the telecommunications equipment market become smaller and have a longer life, further downsizing (higher capacitance), longer life, and stability against environmental temperature have become required of capacitors. As a rated voltage of 63V or more is required in such markets, Nippon Chemi-Con has decided to commercialize and propose 80V products. 


Nippon Chemi-Con has also developed radial lead type products HSA Series (guarantees 4,000 hours at 125℃) and the HSB Series (guarantees 5,000 hours at 105℃) to flexibly meet customer needs. They intended to expand to a wide range of markets, including general-purpose power supply equipment. They have achieved high withstand voltage while maintaining low ESR characteristics by using a high-capacitance aluminum electrode foil developed in-house and a new liquid electrolyte compatible with conductive polymer materials. 


[Samples and Mass Production]

SMD type HXA/HXB Series is already available as samples and mass production starts in August 2014. 


Radial lead type HSB Series is already available as samples and mass production starts in January 2015. The HSA Series is to be available as samples from October 2014 and mass production starts in January 2015.

Nippon Chemi-Con has planned to display samples of 100V products of the HXA/HXB Series at the TECHNO-FRONTIER 2014.
