MindMotion Empowers the Development of 100% Domestic High-Quality Automotive Control Chips
On June 14, 2024, MindMotion was invited to participate in the "Working Together for Excellence of Domestic Chip Industry – A Deep Dive into SAIC Motor" exchange event, organized by the Shanghai Automotive Chip Industry Alliance.
MindMotion Microsystems has become a significant player in the domestic automotive industry. Its MM32 Automotive Control Chips have been introduced and mass-produced in various automotive applications, directly or indirectly serving many well-known domestic automakers, including Geely and BYD.
Perseverance and Commitment: The Journey of MindMotion's Automotive Chips
As early as 2019, MindMotion formed a dedicated automotive control chip team, which includes experts in functional safety design and development, wafer process assurance, packaging reliability, and quality tracking and control.
In January 2022, under the leadership of Mr. Chen Dawei, Senior Vice President of Quality Center at MindMotion, who is also a former expert of the "Nuclear High Base" major project review committee, Chief Engineer at China Electronics Standardization Institute, and a national authority on industrial and automotive standards, MindMotion's self-built Automotive Chip Testing and Verification Laboratory was officially put into use. This lab successfully passed the stringent CNAS certification in December 2023.
The laboratory covers 90% of automotive-grade testing projects and is staffed by nearly 30 dedicated engineers. It is capable of providing professional, reliable, and compliant authoritative testing services for the entire industry. This not only enhances the company's overall chip testing capabilities but also lays a solid foundation for the high quality and reliability of MindMotion's automotive products.
In October 2023, MindMotion received the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management System ASIL D certification from TÜV Rheinland, signifying that it has met the highest international standards in safety requirements and risk management. This further strengthens the company's competitiveness in the automotive electronics field.
Additionally, the company has partnered with Xigu Microelectronics to establish a failure analysis testing center, offering related testing and analysis services to industry clients.
Sustained Investment, Significant Results
MindMotion adheres to independent research and development, with all products based on domestic suppliers and possessing complete intellectual property rights, having accumulated over 220 patents and copyrights.
As of now, MindMotion has had 11 products pass the comprehensive AEC-Q100 testing, meeting the basic requirements for automotive applications. The current lineup of MM32 automotive-grade control chips covers two main categories: general control and motor control. Several products have already achieved mass production in various automotive applications, including pedestrian warning systems, reverse radars, sensors, ETC OBUs, etc..Notably, in the motor control domain, MindMotion’s MM32 products have demonstrated excellent performance in applications such as water pumps, small water pumps, and air conditioning fans, showcasing strong technical capabilities and market potential.
