Small-Size and Large-Capacitance Versions Added to PSF Series of Lead-Type Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Capacitors
Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation has added small-size and large-capacitance versions with sizes of 6.3φ×8mm and a capacitance of 1,200 μF at 2.5V to its PSF series of lead-type conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors.
As PC related products become smaller and thinner, the bulk capacitors mounted on the secondary side of a VRM are required to take up even less space.
Although at present the normal specification of bulk capacitors is a rated voltage of 2.5V and capacitance of 820μF (ESR: 7mΩ), Nippon Chemi-Con has been working to develop large-capacitance versions based on the low-ESR PSF series (ESR: 5mΩ) and has now achieved a large capacitance of 1,200μF at 2.5V (a 46% increase) while keeping an ESR of 5mΩ.
Mass production schedule
The large-capacitance versions of the PSF series were already being mass-produced.
