Nippon Chemi-Con Added Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors LXS and KMS Series with 600V ultra-high Withstand Voltage
Nippon Chemi-Con added 600V rated voltage products to Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors LXS Series and KMS Series. This is the first mass production of long-life, small-size products in the industry which guarantee an endurance of 5,000 hours at 105℃.
The Series is suited for applications requiring high instantaneous energy such as medical power supplies and welding machines. At present, film capacitors are mainly used for such applications. However, the new products have higher capacitance per volume, so they are expected to have advantages such as smaller size, lighter weight, and lower cost.
Furthermore, Nippon Chemi-Con addresses renewable energy sectors such as solar power generation and wind power generation. Currently, power devices that can efficiently convert generated power are drawing attention. Nippon Chemi-Con proposes this product, which has a high withstand voltage and a long life, as DC link capacitors for such systems.
Nippon Chemi-Con also aims for them to be used in 600Vac inverters. A circuit design with two 600V products in series will become possible instead of three of the current 400V products in series, and a design that saves more space by reducing the number of capacitors and balanced circuits is expected.
[Technical Features]
Nippon Chemi-Con has self-developed an aluminum electrode foil that achieves high capacitance in an ultra-high withstand voltage range. We also used our proprietary high withstand voltage technology to raise the breakdown voltage of the electrolyte to 800V and higher.
[Mass Production]
The LXS/KMS Series (600V rated voltage products) was mass-produced at Chemi-Con Fukushima Corp. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con) starting in October 2017.
