Nippon Chemi-Con Developed RHB Series Screw Terminal Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with 700V-rated Voltage
Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Screw Terminal Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors RHB Series with ultra-high withstand voltage. This is the world's first mass production of 700V-rated voltage products.
The Series has a rated voltage range of 575 to 700V and an endurance guaranteeing 2,000 hours at 85℃ and is specialized for downsizing and higher capacitance. Nippon Chemi-Con has proposed them for welding machines, X-ray power supplies, and inverters for special applications where energy, capacitance, and size is a significant factor.
Conventionally, the maximum rated voltage of screw terminal type aluminum electrolytic capacitors for mass production was the RHA Series' 650V. The RHB Series has succeeded in increasing the rated voltage to a maximum of 700V.
The size and weight of equipment can be reduced by using ultra-high withstand voltage aluminum electrolytic capacitors in fields where film capacitors have been used. Furthermore, inverters reduce the number of series connections, leading to a reduction in the number of balancing resistors and the communalization of cases.
[Technical Features]
The breakdown voltage has been increased to 800V and higher by using aluminum electrode foil developed in-house as in the RHA Series, with ultra-high withstand voltage and higher capacitance. The liquid electrolyte also uses proprietary technology to increase withstand voltage, contributing to the improvement in breakdown voltage. Furthermore, the Series has a special internal structure to achieve both higher withstand voltage and reliability.

The RHB Series has been mass-produced at Chemi-Con Fukushima Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con) since August 2014 (samples have been available since May).
