Nippon Chemi-Con Developed KHE Series Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with Small Size and a 105℃ Heat Resistance
Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors KHE Series for power input filtering, which contributes to the downsizing and space-saving of server power supplies, switching power supplies, and general-purpose inverters.
Nippon Chemi-Con is focusing on the development of snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitors for the power electronics market, which is one of the key markets. These products are mainly used in the power supply filtering circuit of server power supplies, switching power supplies, and general-purpose inverters. Nippon Chemi-Con has commercialized small capacitors KMZ Series in order to meet the requirements for downsizing and space-saving of equipment.
As power supply equipment continues to become more compact, there is a growing need for smaller aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Nippon Chemi-Con company continues to develop based on this need. In addition to meeting these market demands, the downsizing of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is also effective in conserving the global environment, which is why Nippon Chemi-Con is actively involved in this effort.
Compared with the conventional KMZ Series, the height (L dimension) of the KHE Series has been reduced by up to 5mm, achieving a 17% reduction in volume.
[Technical Features]
The following two points are the keys to achieving downsizing.
(1) Nippon Chemi-Con develops the main materials for aluminum electrolytic capacitors such as aluminum electrode foil in-house, and this development capability is Nippon Chemi-Con's strength. The new product uses a newly developed electrode foil with a larger surface area.
(2) The internal element structure of the product has been optimized to improve storage efficiency in aluminum cases.
[Samples and Mass Production]
Samples of the KHE Series was scheduled to be available in late April 2017. The Series was produced at Chemi-Con Fukushima Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con)
