Nippon Chemi-Con Improved SMD Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors MZR Series Guaranteeing 5000 Hours at 105℃
Nippon Chemi-Con has improved the endurance of its SMD Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors MZR Series, which are currently in mass production, and has developed a product with a longer life guaranteeing 5000 hours at 105℃ from 2,000 hours at 105℃.
Nippon Chemi-Con proposes the product for electric components installed in automotive interiors and 24-hour monitoring systems, where long operation is expected.
To date, Nippon Chemi-Con has commercialized and supplied small, high capacitance, and low ESR capacitors MZR Series as capacitors for the prevention of instantaneous voltage drops in power supplies of car navigation systems and indicators, as well as for backup power supply of ECU (Electronic Control Unit). At the same time, in commercial vehicles and full-time monitors of industrial equipment where long operation is expected, Nippon Chemi-Con anticipates an increase in demand for longer life of capacitors and has promoted development to improve their endurance.
This product has a case size of φ8 x 10 Lmm and φ 10 x 10 Lmm. In addition to using low evaporation rubber as the material for the sealing rubber, by controlling the amount of electrolyte (optimization), Nippon Chemi-Con has succeeded in improving the endurance from 2,000 hours to 5,000 hours while maintaining the low ESR and high capacitance characteristics of the conventional MZR Series. This helps extend the life of the equipment.

Long-life products of the MZR Series were available as samples from April 2019, and mass production started in September 2019. Production held at Chemi-Con Miyagi Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con)
