Nippon Chemi-Con Developed PMA Series SMD-Type Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Capacitors with Low-Profile Package and Large Capacitance
Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation has developed the PMA series, a molded version of its surface mount type conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors.
Nippon Chemi-Con's conventional surface mount type conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors employ a vertical type surface mount structure in which the element is placed inside an aluminum case and then sealed by a rubber bung. The newly developed PMA series, however, has a structure in which the element is molded in resin instead of using an aluminum case and a rubber bung, thereby achieving a more compact package. This has also led to a reduction in the height of the package and an increase in the capacitance, allowing mounting in small and thin equipment in which conventional capacitors could not be mounted easily.
The PMA series SMD-Type Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Capacitor is ideal for use in the DC/DC converter inputs of laptop PCs, car navigation systems, and so on.
Mass production schedule
Samples for the PMA series were currently available, with mass production to start within the year.
