Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Radial Lead Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors KWB Series for primary-side filtering of digital home appliances and general-purpose power supplies. 


Power supplies and adapters for digital home appliances have become more compact. As a result, capacitors with higher capacitance and a smaller form are required for such applications. 


In response to this requirement, Nippon Chemi-Con commercialized the KWA Series which has been well received. However, as power supply devices continue to become more compact, there is a growing need for even smaller products. Nippon Chemi-Con is working to downsize products as the continuing subject of development. 


The KWB Series covers a rated voltage of 400 to 450V which is optimal for the primary side. By using aluminum electrode foil with a larger surface area developed in-house, Nippon Chemi-Con has improved the capacitance by 20% compared to the existing KWA Series. 


When compared to KWA Series products of the same capacitance, the height of the product can be reduced by up to 5mm, achieving a 17% reduction in volume.

The KWB Series was available as samples from June 2018, and mass production started in October 2018.
