750-539 4DO 24V DC VALVE Ex i 4-Channel Digital Output Module DC 24 V, Valve Ex i WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 Manual
The I/O module 750-539 (4DO 24V DC VALVE Ex i) outputs binary signals to actuators in Zone 0 and 1 in the hazardous area. Intrinsically safe valves can be directly controlled. Binary signals are initiated by a higher order control system.
The I/O module has 4 output channels, providing a direct intrinsically safe connection to 2-wire actuators (e.g., intrinsically safe valves). A coil for a valve can be connected at each output. The actuators are connected to the CAGE CLAMP® terminals DO 1 and 0 V, DO 2 and 0 V, DO 3 and 0 V and DO 4 and 0 V.The assignment of the connections is described in the “Connectors” section. Connection examples are shown in section “Connecting Devices” > ... > “Connection Example(s)”.The I/O module outputs provide high-side switching. If the signal status of an output channel is at “high” the 24 V potential for field power will be switched to the appropriate output connection. A green LED indicates the switched status of each channel.Any configuration of the I/O module is possible within an intrinsically safe segment when configuring the fieldbus node. An arrangement in groups within the group of potentials is not necessary. The I/O module 750-539 can be used with all fieldbus couplers/controllers of the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750.The meaning of the LEDs is described in the “Display Elements” section. The Ex i I/O module receives the 24V voltage supply for the field level from an upstream Ex i I/O module or from an Ex i power supply module via the power contacts used as blade contacts. It then provides this potential to subsequent I/O modules via the power contacts used as spring contacts. The field voltage and the system voltage are electrically isolated from each other.
