Handheld DS2800 Spectrum Analyzer Incorporates Unique Test Capabilities that Ensure Proper Installation of Cable Networks and Reduce Service Calls
DENVER – Sept. 22, 2014 – DEVISER Instruments, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative, high-quality, feature-rich field network test solutions for communications service providers and equipment manufacturers worldwide, announced the launch of the handheld DS2800 Cable TV Analyzer, an all-in-one tool for installing, verifying and maintaining cable networks.
The DS2800 is DOCSIS 3.1 ready and includes a Spectrum Analyzer that covers up to 210MHz upstream. This field cable TV analyzer’s persistence analysis facilitates in-service detection of transient noise and impairments hiding beneath the upstream signal. Error Vector Spectrum (EVS) analysis, which is new to handheld instruments, can quickly detect and identify interference from the fast-growing LTE network. MPEG Transport Stream analysis in compliance with ESTI TR101 290 measurement techniques can be used for continuous or periodic monitoring of MPEG TSs in an operational environment. These unique capabilities enable technicians to detect and isolate impairments that were not visible in the past, ensuring proper installation on the first visit and shortening service calls to reduce operational expenses.
“The launch of the DS2800 is a game-changer for technicians deploying cable networks because it provides them with a powerful, compact all-in-one solution that provides a robust set of features and capabilities that enable them to properly deploy and maintain cable networks to maximize customer satisfaction,” explained Mike Tolaio, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Deviser Instruments. “From an operations standpoint, the DS2800 reduces OPEX and CAPEX by integrating multiple functions into the device and minimizing the time required on-site for service calls.”
Key benefits of the DS2800 include:
An all-in-one tool for installation, verification, and maintenance of cable networks that includes a full DOCSIS cable modem
Future-proof cable TV analyzer that is compatible with DOCSIS 3.1 and covers up to 210MHz for upstream
Find hidden or transient noise through persistence testing and detect interference from LTE interference with EVS masks
A full-featured spectrum analyzer that can detect signals up to 2185 MHz and 80 dB dynamic range
Accurately verify the quality of the signal with in-service gated measurements, DVB signal analysis (with MER and BER measurements),
Identify impairments with Equalizer, Frequency Response, and Group Delay Analysis
Speed up installation with pre-configured auto test, simultaneous display of QAM and spectrum analysis, and ultra-fast QAM signal lock
Pre-qualify installations by using the upstream signal generator
