Sept. 8, 2015 --DEVISER Instruments, a communications test and measurement company that specializes in handheld solutions for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of wireless sites, is continuing its mission of making test and measurement products that address service providers’ greatest pain points regarding simplicity, scalability, faster measurement results and ultimately, reduced OPEX. The company debuted its E7042B and E7062B SignalPROFILER products, enabling RF measurements up to 4GHz and 6GHz respectively. The products combine cable and antenna system analysis, fiber inspection, spectrum analysis, cellular signal demodulation, interference analysis, signal coverage mapping and RF/Optical power measurements in single instruments.

Deviser Instruments’PROFILER line enables RF engineers, technicians and contractors to identify network issues quicker (often in just 250 microseconds) and with pinpoint accuracy. Deeper views into the signal environment and site infrastructure improves teams’ ability to get sites running faster and provides confidence that the job is done correctly, reducing future truck rolls and ultimately reducing OPEX.

"Deviser Instruments is laser focused on a customer-first mission, addressing customers’ biggest test and measurement challenges as today’s wireless networks evolve and grow more complex,” said Mike Tolaio, VP of Sales and Marketing. “Without question, RF engineers, contractors, installers and network operators must have simple, scalable, high-performance, yet economical test and measurement solutions. Deviser’s goal is to show them what they’ve never seen before with products that let them focus on doing their jobs better.”

In today’s wireless networks, RF coaxial cable, fiber optics, Ethernet backhaul and complex RF signals all converge. Additionally, service providers are expanding networks to deliver greater content by deploying alternative infrastructures—remote radio heads (RRH) and distributed antenna systems (DAS), among other small-cell alternatives—most of which are fiber-based. Adding to the complexity of network site management is signal interference that adversely affects site transmission coverage, capacity and overall network performance.

In order to properly install, maintain and troubleshoot these networks, contractors and network operators require a broader test set than ever. This leads to increased equipment needs, acquisition, training and service costs.

Deviser Instruments’ SignalPROFILER E7042B and E7062B products address these challenges by combining multiple functionalities into single instruments. The company will showcase the new products at the 2015 CTIA Super Mobility Show in Las Vegas, Sept 9-11, in Booth #4649.

SignalPROFILER Spectrum & Cable Analyzer Specs
The E7042B (4GHz) and E7062B (6GHz) can be configured to meet customers’ test needs at the time of purchase or later as test needs evolve. Additional measurement capabilities can be added in the field, on the fly.

Key measurements include:

  • Distance-to-Fault (DTF) identifies the fault location of impairments within the cell-site transmission cable system. Fault location impairments and discontinuities can be detected by either DTF-Return Loss or DTF-VSWR measurements.

  • Interference Analysis can detect signal as low as -158 dBm and supports dual spectrogram display, RSSI, signal strength and signal ID capabilities.

  • Fiber Inspection eliminates the most common fiber link problems by verifying that fiber optic connectors are not contaminated, letting customers quickly inspect and clean connector connections with a clear pass/fail indication.

  • RF/Optical Power Meter displays either RF/Optical power level. Configurable settings include display range, maximum and minimum limits and power units in either dBm or Watts. Customers can set minimum and maximum power limits to automatically indicate pass/fail status.

  • Cellular Signal Analysis provides detailed insight to LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, WCDMA/HSDPA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA/EV-DO, GSM/GPRS/EDGE signals and modulation quality.
