Core Recording Micro Semiconductor recently released the latest programming software update and a list of newly supported chip models. Among them, the 32-bit microcontroller TMS320F28377DPTPT of TI Texas Instruments has been supported by Core Recording Micro's automated chip programmer platform AP8000.

The TMS320F28377DPTPT is a powerful 32-bit floating-point microcontroller unit designed for advanced closed-loop control applications such as industrial motor drives, photovoltaic inverters and digital power supplies, electric vehicles and transportation, and sensing and signal processing. To accelerate application development, the DigitalPower Software Development Kit (SDK) for C2000 MCUs and the Motor Control Software Development Kit (SDK) for C2000™ MCUs are available. TMS320F28377DPTPT supports the new dual-core C28x architecture, which significantly improves system performance. Integrated analog and control peripherals also allow designers to consolidate control architectures and eliminate the need for multiple processors in high-end systems.

The dual real-time control subsystem is based on TI's 32-bit C28x floating-point CPU, each core can provide 200MHz signal processing performance. The C28x CPUs have been further enhanced with new TMU accelerators that enable fast execution of algorithms for trigonometric operations commonly found in transform and torque loop calculations and VCU accelerators that reduce time for complex math operations commonly found in coding applications.

The TMS320F28377DPTPT microcontroller product family features two CLA real-time control coprocessors. The CLA is a standalone 32-bit floating-point processor that runs at the same speed as the main CPU. The CLA responds to peripheral triggers and executes code concurrently with the main C28x CPU. This parallel processing capability can effectively double the computational performance of real-time control systems. By leveraging the CLA to service time-critical functions, the main C28x CPU is free to perform other tasks such as communication and diagnostics. The dual C28x+CLA architecture enables intelligent partitioning between various system tasks. For example, one C28x+CLA core can be used to track velocity and position, while another C28x+CLA core can be used to control torque and current loops.

The TMS320F28377DPTPT supports up to 1MB (512KW) of onboard Flash memory with error correction code (ECC) and up to 204KB (102KW) of SRAM. There are also two 128-bit enclaves per CPU for code protection.

High-performance analog and control peripherals are also integrated on the TMS320F28377DPTPT to further realize system integration. Four independent 16-bit ADCs accurately and efficiently manage multiple analog signals, ultimately increasing system throughput. A new sigma-delta filter module (SDFM) works with a sigma-delta modulator to enable isolated current shunt measurements. A comparator subsystem (CMPSS) with window comparators allows protection of the power stage if current limit conditions are exceeded or not met. Other analog and control peripherals include DAC, PWM, eCAP, eQEP, and others.

The AP8000 universal programmer independently developed by Core Micro Semiconductor includes three parts: the host, the base plate, and the adapter seat.

The host supports USB and NET connections, allowing multiple production programmers to be networked to achieve the purpose of simultaneously controlling multiple programmers to burn at the same time. The built-in chip safety protection circuit ensures that even if the chip is reversed or a short circuit is caused by other reasons can be detected immediately and the power will be cut off to ensure the safety of the chip and programmer. Embedded high-speed FPGA greatly accelerates data transmission and processing. There is an SD card slot on the back of the main unit. Put the project file produced by the PC software into the root directory of the SD card and insert it into the card slot. The project file can be selected, loaded, and programmed through the buttons on the programmer. command, in order to achieve the purpose of operating without a PC, which greatly reduces the cost of PC hardware configuration, and can be conveniently and quickly matched with the working environment.

AP8000 makes the mainframe more expandable by adding an adapter board to the backplane. Currently, it supports devices produced by all mainstream semiconductor manufacturers. Supported device types include NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, etc., and support file formats including Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, POF, etc.
