Longsys recently released its first FORESEE 512Mb SPI NAND Flash in the Chinese mainland.


Independently developed by Longsys, this creation can help clients reduce the costs of complete computer systems and improve the competitiveness of terminal products dramatically. Now it has been fully mass-produced and widely used in smart wearables, IoT modules, security monitoring, network communications, and other fields.

 

Higher capacity and efficiency with reduced costs

It’s the best choice for replacing SPI NOR Flash with a capacity of more than 256Mb

Generally, clients will select SPI NOR Flash if their system storage requires a capacity of no more than 128Mb. However, when a larger capacity is needed, they have to choose between the high-cost 256Mb/512Mb SPI NOR Flash and 1Gb SPI NAND Flash. FORESEE 512Mb SPI NAND provides a more suitable option for applications that do not require a 1Gb capacity.

 

In addition, it’s a great choice to replace 256Mb NOR Flash as it doubles the storage capacity while the price is greatly lower than that of 256Mb NOR Flash, helping clients significantly reduce costs.

 

256Mb NOR Flash cannot meet the storage requirements of applications with the continuous growth of software resources and functions, while FORESEE 512Mb SPI NAND Flash can provide clients with a more economical alternative featuring a larger capacity and a lower cost. Therefore, the number of new terminal applications using 512Mb SPI NAND Flash is growing rapidly.

To meet clients’ strong needs for product miniaturization, this 512Mb NAND Flash is available in the standard 8mm×6mm SPI NAND Flash packaging and a smaller packaging—6mm×5mm, which is nearly 37% smaller, thus saving PCB space and helping clients further reduce system costs. As the form factors and pin layouts are fully compatible with 256Mb NOR Flash, the product makes it really convenient for clients to upgrade from NOR Flash to NAND Flash.
