Metallux ME509压力传感器采用陶瓷基板和冲孔膜片，基于压阻原理设计，专门用于测量非常低的压力。Wheatstone电桥印刷在冲孔陶瓷膜片的一侧，该膜片随后被粘贴到传感器的主体上。电桥面向内部，其中有一个腔室，因此膜片的另一侧可以直接暴露于要测量的介质中。由于直径较大（32.4毫米），因此可以达到更高的灵敏度，从而允许测量低至200毫巴的压力值。由于Al2O3陶瓷优异的化学耐腐蚀性（耐腐蚀性气体、大多数溶剂和酸等），通常不需要额外的保护。Metallux ME509传感器通过激光可调PTC电阻进行热补偿，陶瓷的使用确保在整个测量范围内具有高线性度，将滞后效应降至最低。
