NVMe-IP DDR reference design manual
■ This reference design is modified from standard NVMe-IP demo by using DDR to be data buffer instead of FIFO, as shown in yellow block of Figure 1-1. DDR must be used for the system which requires big data buffer such as data logger from high speed A/D for receiving high speed data as sustain rate .
■ In Write command, when SSD is not ready, data from TestGen must be stored in data buffer. DDR size is large, so it can support to store data when SSD is busy f or longer time than small FIFO. The minimum DDR buffer size must be equal to (the maximum busy time of SSD x data input rate). This is general requirement for data logger system.
■ In Read command, data from SSD is stored in DDR before forwarding to TestGen. Data in DDR must be always filled for user reading in constant rate Similar to Write command, the minimum DDR buffer size is equal to the (maximum busy time of SSD x data output rate). The sustain rate for Read command is generally required in high resolution display system.
