Bourns® Semi-Shielded Power Inductor Marking Process Change for Certain Model SRN Series PRODUCT CHANGE NOTIFICATION

Riverside, California – February 10, 2021 – In the spirit of continuous improvement, effective March 14, 2021, Bourns will change the marking process for the Model SRN4018, SRN4018A, SRN4026, SRN5020, SRN5040, SRN6020 and SRN6028 Semi-shielded Power Inductors from ink marking to laser etching. The new process will eliminate the use of ink material to facilitate compliance with the mandatory national standards of the People's Republic of China which limit use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in printing ink. A list of affected part numbers is included on the next page.
The laser etching process will have no impact on the fit or function of the product. The form of the product and the manufacturing process will change due to the use of a different marking process step. The quality and reliability of the marking on the product will be improved as a result of the process change.
