SMAC NEWSLETTER Vol.133 TetraPak STACK with CBC controller
The first 2 stacks, for very high speed divert (70 mm in 25 msec), shipped out to one of the world leading packaging machine makers. We still are in a learning mode but what we know is that:
1.Speed is important and no other actuator can close to this speed. The customer agrees that only a moving coil design can do this.
2.The stack is a cost down.
3.The ability to switch out an actuator in a minute -by only plugging a DB 15, taking out 4 screws -then doing the reverse-is a strong sales point.
4.OEMs and Users want to do as little as possible so selling a stack with 1 plate to mount -all prewired controllers and actuators -is another strong sales point.
5.Price is very important.
We have other orders coming in, all from large OEMs or users. A lot are in packaging but we also are getting Biotech, replacing pneumatics for dispensing into wells (9 mm pitch) and Electronic. We will ship 6 STACKs to areas over the next several weeks and then begin to show.
