Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. has finished developing a reflective-type optoelectronic sensor NJL5830R for touchless pushbuttons and will start production from April 2022.

The NJL5830R is a reflective-type optoelectronic sensor, which integrates a high-power infrared LED and a receiver photo IC in a unique package.

This product will contribute to infection control and improvement of hygiene to make selection buttons touchless on highly public equipment, such as automatic vending machines including ticket vending machines, and elevators.

This product features highly resistant to ambient light and can be used for equipment installed outdoors. The target detection distance is 0 to 50 mm and can be adjusted according to the application.

Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. will launch a series of optical touchless sensors with the product name "Optton™."

Overview

Pin Description

Features

1. Small and Thin Package

Achieves a small and thin package to be incorporated into button switches. (3.6 x 5.8 x 1.2 (mm))
This product is a reflective-type optoelectronic sensor, which integrates a high-power infrared LED and a photosensitive IC in a chip on board package (*COBP).

*COBP: Surface Mount Package

2. Industry's First, Built-in Interference Prevention Function between Sensors

Conventionally, there are touchless sensors that use a single sensor, but the use of multiple sensors causes problems such as interference between sensors.
By shifting a pulse period between sensors, this product is the first in the industry to prevent malfunctions caused by interference.

3. Resistant to Ambient Light

Features highly resistant to ambient light thanks to its light modulation method and can be used outdoors.

4. Operating Even with Gloves

Can also be applied to equipment used with gloves, such as food and beverage equipment and medical equipment.
