TELE‘s Cobot Timer Relay Solution E1ZMQ10 24-240VAC/DC Ensuring Timely Heating-to-Forming
For the last three years, PCC has been collaborating with TELE Controls Inc. as their distributor to provide services in the Wisconsin area. Apart from distribution, PCC's Robotics team discovered a potential solution for their Collaborative Robot (Cobot). It all began with a simple timer test, which eventually led to a solution to improve safety measures.

Task: Ensure Timely Heating-to-Forming in Cobot Cell
The TELE, E1ZMQ10 24-240VAC/DC timer relay ensures timely heating-to-forming transitions. It operates independently of the robot’s status, starting a timer upon part formation. If the set time elapses, regardless of robot activity, the relay triggers an ‘Abort Mission’ signal, prompting human intervention for cell reset.

SOLUTION: TELE’s Time Delay Relay
In the cobot cell setup comprising an induction heater and press for part forming the TELE timer relay plays a crucial role in ensuring precise timing from heating to forming. Setting a predetermined time limit acts as a fail-safe mechanism, preventing any delay beyond the specified duration.
Even if the robot pauses, rendering its internal timer ineffective, the TELE timer relay remains independent, initiating a countdown upon part formation. Should the set time elapse, regardless of the robot’s status, the relay triggers an “Abort Mission” signal, prompting human intervention to investigate and reset the cell. This solution ensures seamless operation and minimizes production disruptions.
