Information from TELE Haase Steuergeräte Ges.m.b.H in relation to REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)

2022-10-12
●Dear Sir/Madam,
■The REACH Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) came into effect on June 1, 2007 for all EU Member States. Under this regulation, all known substances were required to be preregistered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) by December 1, 2008. Subsequently, the full registration of these preregistered substances must now follow between 2010 and 2018. Any new chemical substances that are to be produced or introduced in the EU after December 1, 2008 must be registered fully prior to manufacturing. More than 150 000 substances from 65 000 different legal entities have been preregistered with the ECHA giving rise to a total of more than 2.75 million preregistrations.
■As a manufacturer of electronic products, TELE Haase Steuergeräte Ges.m.b.H is a so-called “Downstream” user concerning REACH. You purchase exclusively non-chemical products from us. Moreover, no substances should be released by the products acquired from us under normal, reasonable, foreseeable conditions of use. As a result, the products manufactured by TELE Haase Steuergeräte Ges.m.b.H are not subject to the registration obligation.
■Regardless of this, we are intensively pursuing the implementation of REACH on the part of our suppliers - both for our own interest and to ensure a high level of product safety for our customers. We are collaborating closely with our suppliers of chemical substances and preparations (e.g. raw materials, auxiliary and working materials for the manufacture, cultivation and processing of our products or applications in other processes) in order to ensure preregistration or later (full) registration of the relevant substances in REACH along the entire delivery chain.
■Furthermore, we will inform you immediately in accordance with REACH - Art. 33 if any ingredients of our products (with a content of >0.1%) are classified by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) as especially alarming and are consequently included on the list of high-alert substances (Substances of Very High Concern - SVHC)
