■The REACH Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) came into effect on June 1, 2007 for all EU Member States. Subsequently, the full registration of these preregistered substances must now follow between 2010 and 2018. Any new chemical substances that are to be produced or introduced in the EU after December 1, 2008 must be registered fully prior to manufacturing. More than150 000 substances from 65 000 different legal entities have been preregistered with the ECHA giving rise to a total of more than 2.75 million preregistrations.
