In the case of a certain number of layers, the smaller the size of the PCB, the lower the price. If the design engineer can reduce the size of the PCB without affecting the electrical performance in the PCB design, the size and cost can be reduced reasonably.
Manufacturing Difficulty
The main parameters affecting PCB manufacturing are small line width, small line spacing, small drilling holes, etc. If these parameters are set too small or the process capability has reached the small limit of the PCB factory, the yield of the PCB will be low. , the cost of manufacturing will increase. Therefore, in the process of designing the PCB, try to avoid challenging the limits of the factory, set a reasonable line width and line spacing, and drill holes. In the same way, through holes can complete the design, try not to use the blind and buried holes of HDI, because the processing technology of blind and buried holes is much more difficult than that of through holes, which will increase the cost of PCB production.
PCB Sheet Material
There are many classifications of PCB sheets, such as common paper-based printed circuit boards, epoxy glass fiber cloth printed circuit printed circuit boards, composite substrate printed circuit boards, special substrate printed circuit boards, metal substrates, etc. There is a big difference in the processing of different materials, and the processing cycle of some special materials will be longer. Therefore, in the design, try to choose cheap materials that can meet the design requirements and are more common, such as RF4 materials.
