Nippon Chemi-Con has developed Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors RLA Series. 


Nippon Chemi-Con considered the following five markets as strategic markets: automotive electronics, industrial equipment, new energy, home appliances, and ICT. Especially among products for home appliances such as air conditioners and washing machines, the lineup of snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitors has been expanded. 


The RLA Series realizes higher ripple current in the commercial frequency band (low frequency), enabling increased ripple current without expanding capacitance or size in inverter applications for products such as home appliances requiring high ripple current. The Series has made this possible for the first time. 


The RLA Series has a rated voltage range of 180 to 250V, product sizes ⌀30×35 to ⌀35×55mm, and a capacitance range of 600 to 2200µF. 


In development, Nippon Chemi-Con achieved higher ripple current by adopting proprietary aluminum electrode foil with low dielectric loss, as well as a special structure to improve reliability by using a low ESR specification for the liquid electrolyte and separator paper. 


[Mass Production] 

The RLA Series was available as samples and mass-produced from July 2014. Nippon Chemi-Con has begun production at Chemi-Con Fukushima Corp. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con) and started at Chemi-Con (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. subsequently.
