MindMotion Launches Another 12-inch MCU——MM32F0040 Series with Operating Frequency Up to 72MHz
Mar 21, 2022, Shanghai China——This round of semiconductor shortage since 2020, has been unprecedented in its long duration and wide impact, and there have been no signs of improvement so far. Worse still, as the shadow of COVID-19 still hangs over the globe despite the efforts made to fight against this pandemic, the spread of COVID-19 has further exacerbated the imbalance between supply and demand in the chip industry. It can be predicted that the chip shortage will still be the main melody of the chip market in the next one to two years. "Seeking development in the shortage of chips" has become the new normal in the miconductor industry.
To find a way out of limited production capacity, MindMotionMicroelectronics, with an all-out effort, has begun to switch to 12-inch wafers (with abundant production capacity) since early 2021. In just half a year, several new products based on 12-inch wafers were completed and all wafers were mass-produced at one time. Up to now, the shipment of the MM32F0140 series has exceeded one million pieces and this number is still in high growth; the MM32F0020 series MCU has received sample applications from hundreds of registered customers and is expected to be in full mass production from April.
To further optimize its capacity, MindMotion has introduced the MM32F0040 series, a new product based on the 12-inch wafer. MM32F0040 series is pin-compatible with the MM32F0020 series, with an increase in its main frequency to 72MHz, expanded RAM capacity, additional DMA and comparator functions, and rich peripherals. These rich peripherals make the MM32F0040 series fully suitable for professional applications such as industrial IoT, motor control, and medical equipment as well as personal applications, like personal hand-held devices, and game and entertainment equipment.
