SANYO DENKI Expands Its Lineup of SANMOTION G Servo System, Which Offers “Powerful“ and “Friendly“ Features
SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. has expanded its lineup of the SANMOTION G servo system, which achieves high performance in a compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient design, by adding new 1.8 to 5kW-output servo motors and 75, 100, and 150A-capacity servo amplifiers. These are ideal for robots, machine tools, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, food manufacturing equipment, and medical equipment.

Powerful Performance
1. Evolved Servo Performance
This servo system provides high-speed and high-precision control of equipment, greatly improving productivity and processing quality. The following servo performance ratings have been improved compared to SANYO DENKI conventional products.
● Speed frequency response: 1.4 times higher
● Positioning settling time: 3 times shorter
● Speed overshoot: Halved
● Motor output range at high speeds: 1.15 times extended (Low inertia)
● Encoder resolution: 16 times higher (27 bit, battery-less)
2. Improved Reliability and Maintainability
It has various safety functions to ensure the safety of operators, such as monitoring of power supply status and communication quality, estimation of the remaining life of the holding brake, and prevention of electronic component failures. It also identifies and displays the causes of abnormalities, such as power device diagnosis abnormalities and power supply undervoltage, improving the reliability and maintainability of equipment.
3. Usable in Various Environments
The vibration resistance of the servo motor and amplifier has been improved two-fold and 20%, respectively, compared to the conventional products. The operating temperature range of the servo amplifier has been extended by approximately 5%, covering from 0 to +60℃. Also, the amplifier can be used at a high altitude of 2,000m above sea level. With improved environmental durability, this product can be used in a variety of regions and environments.
Eco and User-Friendly
1. Compact, Lightweight, and Energy-saving Design for SDGs
Compared to the conventional products,(1) the motor and amplifier have been made lighter by up to 14% and 19%, respectively, and the overall motor length has been shortened by up to 16%. Furthermore, the energy loss of the motor and amplifier has been reduced by up to 29% and 16%, respectively. To sum up, this system can make your equipment smaller, lighter, and more energy-saving, greatly contributing to SDGs.
2. Easy and User-friendly
● This system can measure the frequency characteristics of equipment with high precision and optimize servo parameters automatically.
● For easy replacement, servo motors are designed to be mounting-compatible with conventional products.
● At the start-up of linear servo motors, the motor position can be detected with precision without using a hall sensor, achieving reduced motor position deviations, quieter operation, and low-vibration start-up.
