Maxell Adds new lineup to Air Patch Battery without harmful or dangerous materials,for medical and healthcare patches and logistics control tags
Maxell has developed the Air Patch Battery II, for long-term use with due consideration to environmental load and safety, a high-output, thin, flexible battery that is suitable for medical and healthcare patches and logistics control tags.
The Air Patch Battery II represents a further evolution in the material and production technologies that Maxell has cultivated in button batteries, coin batteries, and small-size laminated batteries for IoT and wearable devices for half a century, combined with new safety design technology. This battery is an additional lineup to the Air PatchTM Battery series for medical and healthcare patches, announced on November 8, 2018.
The Air Patch Battery is a high-energy-density battery made with particular consideration for its environmental load and safety. It is suitable for monitoring biological information such as body temperature and blood glucose levels, and for medical and healthcare patches used for medicine administration such as insulin and analgesics.
The Air Patch Battery II is a high-output battery that can be used for long periods. It is suitable for logistic control tags that manage locational information, usage conditions, temperature, and humidity. By adding this battery to the lineup of the Air PatchTM Battery series, Maxell can provide batteries for a wider range of applications.
Both the Air Patch Battery and Air PatchTM Battery II series are currently being shipped for samples, and mass production is scheduled for fiscal 2023. Maxell will continue to enhance its safety and environmental load reduction technologies to develop safe, secure, high-performance batteries.
