WAYON High Current Gas Discharge Tubes Features Low Capacitance and Wide Voltage Range, Boosting Circuit Safety Protection
Gas discharge tube is is an arrangement of electrodes in a gas within an insulating, temperature-resistant envelope, serving as a lightning protection device. Its working principle is when the applied voltage across the two poles of the discharge tube increases to the point where the inter-electrode field strength exceeds the insulation strength of the gas, the discharge tube conducts, and after conduction, the voltage between the two poles is maintained at a level determined by the discharge arc path, thus protecting electronic devices connected in parallel with the discharge tube from voltage surges. The characteristic of a gas discharge tube is that when the voltage between the two terminals of the component increases, the resistance of the discharge tube will instead be at a relatively low level; and the response time or action delay of the discharge tube is related to the steepness of the voltage pulse.

Ceramic gas discharge tubes, abbreviated as GDT (Gas Discharge Tube), are sealed in ceramic packaging with two or more metal electrodes with gaps inside, filled with inert gases such as argon and neon.
Glass discharge tubes, abbreviated as SPG (Spark Gap Protectors), are sealed in glass packaging with two electrodes separated by a certain distance inside the glass tube filled with inert gas.
WAYON gas discharge tubes feature high current capability (up to 150KA), diverse packaging (electrodes can be customized according to requirements), wide voltage range (up to 5KV), low capacitance (C <0.5PF), etc., and are widely used in base stations, security, new energy, communications, and other fields, and are currently in mass production and shipment to many well-known customers.
