For ECU (Electronic Control Unit) applications in autonomous driving and advanced safety systems or ECU communication interfaces such as 5G or V2X with high bandwidth for increased multi-channel operation, HOSIDEN has developed an Automotive Ultracompact Coaxial Connector.

The receptacle is constructed using a die-cast housing realizing both robustness and excellent EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) performance as required by automotive manufacturers. The ultracompact size of the product is less than 50% of the size of our conventional products, so contributing to high-density integration (in compact ECUs), and its connector with its smaller diameter can pass through openings of just 10 mm in diameter, improving wire routing flexibility.

Covering the next generation of Ser/Des(Serializer/Deserializer) as well as a wide operating band from DC through to 12GHz for the next generation of communication standards, this connector can be used in a wide range of applications. Furthermore, up to six keying variations are possible for the correct connection of each plug and receptacle, allowing easy multiple connections to be accommodated such as integrated ECU, omni-directional camera system, TCU(Telematics Control Unit), and tuner box, all in the same vehicle.
