Hosiden Develops Versatile, Miniature Coaxial Quad-Type Connector with Excellent EMC Characteristics for Automotive Applications
HOSIDEN has developed a “Miniature coaxial (quad-type) coaxial connector for automotive applications” for ECUs (Electronic Control Units) used in autonomous driving and advanced safety systems which require high-speed data transfer, as well as for ECU interfacing in multi-channel, high bandwidth communications such as 5G and V2X.
The receptacle housing is diecast, which realizes both the high durability required by automotive manufacturers and excellent EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility). It can incorporate four conventional single receptacles (HVE1282) in parallel, which reduces the board-occupying area of the part by approximately 60%, contributing to a more compact ECU size. Connection to a four-port connector can be completed with a single mating operation, reducing the operator's workload.
Equipped with a wide bandwidth capability (DC–10 GHz) covering next-generation Ser/Des (Serializer/De-serializer) and the frequency bands of next-generation communication standards, the connector is ready for a wide range of applications. Moreover, as many as four keying variations can be set for fitting the plug into the receptacle, meeting with the needs of utilizing multiple receptacles together, including integrated ECUs for autonomous driving and advanced safety systems.
