Air Real Reaction Touch Panel DTS5088 Developed by Hosiden Operates with Air-transmitted Haptic Feedback
As a measure to protect users from infections caused by contact with operation consoles such as touch panels used by the general public, demand for non-contact operation has been increasing.
Based on a collaboratively developed technology with Ultraleap, HOSIDEN has developed an “Air Real Reaction Touch panel” DTS5088 that is operable without touching its screen, by using haptic feedback via air pressure to inform the user.
A significant improvement on conventional non-contact operation without haptic feedback, this touch panel conveys the sensations of its operation through the air. This enables not only simple ON/OFF operations but sequences of operations until the desired icon on the display is finally selected and its operation initiated. All this can be performed via the air. By producing a specific tactile sensation dedicated to each icon, users can recognize which icon they are selecting without seeing it, thereby enabling a wide variety of applications that would best benefit from non-contact operation. We propose such products can be incorporated into restrooms, elevators, ATMs, and OA machines.
