HOSIDEN is now joining the Perovskite solar cell business, the next generation of solar cell technologies.

Based on the global application of its high performance, high-quality technical, and production expertise cultivated in touch panel products for automotive navigation center displays, Hosiden has been actively promoting touch sensor development by using various decorative and surface finishes that harmonize with vehicle interiors. This product release is a touch sensor module incorporating illumination and a Dead-Front sensor area that resembles leather, matching the vehicle interior. With a proximity detector incorporated into the capacitive touch sensor, holding out a hand over the module triggers the illuminated indication which shines through the module’s leather-like surface, enabling touch operation.

To meet recent demands for complex cockpit instrumentation with numerous surrounding operational indications, “on-demand” displays that only appear when needed can reduce the onset of operational fatigue by being out of sight during driving, while contributing to improved design. Hosiden offers the sensor modules together with the application of three significant technologies: “High-reliability bonding,” “High-sensitivity design,” and “EMC countermeasures” to the artificial leather and cushion combination as its basic product configuration.

Moreover, flexible customization is also available such as offering specialized module configurations including associated functionality (illumination modules, vibration transducers, and else), or offering just specific design and technical support for this associated functionality, based on the customer's needs. For such optimal proposals according to various cases including vehicle designs or the size of the mounting space, Hosiden’s general policy is to follow bespoke design requirements. Hosiden collaborates with its Tier1 partners for the leather-look surfaces, and also are planning to offer the product in collaboration with its interior and electrical component Tier1 manufacturers.
