Recently, EMC demands are increasing at a higher rate than ever, with the appearance of new in-vehicle communication infrastructure such as ECUs for autonomous driving and advanced safety systems, as well as 5G and V2X, where the frequencies of the digital signals to be handled are rapidly increasing. To satisfy such demands, HOSIDEN has developed a coaxial connector with enhanced EMC performance, especially for in-vehicle applications.

This connector uses a diecast structural housing, realizing compact size, high durability, and EMC characteristics that are tailor-made for modern in-vehicle applications. In addition, the design of the connection to the board GND is optimized, whereby a connecting spring is provided to enable electrical connection to a metal enclosure’s GND, such as in an ECU, greatly improving EMC performance as compared to our conventional products. This assures a wide bandwidth of DC to 10GHz, covering next-generation Ser/Des (Serializer/Deserializer) and next-generation communication standards. Further, it is possible to set of six types of keying variations for the connector, satisfying the needs of multiple usage applications such as autonomous driving and/or integrated ECUs for advanced safety systems.
