Hosiden‘s Rear Case Assembly (with socket) / Miniature Receptacle for Automotive Camera Coaxial Connector Supporting High-speed Signals (6Gbps)
HOSIDEN has developed a Rear Case Assembly incorporating a socket and a Miniature Receptacle for automotive camera coaxial connectors which supports high-speed digital signals.
In recent years, we have been seeing higher resolutions and higher frame rates in ADAS cameras in which more stringent EMC performance is required for the connectors and harnesses connecting between the system components. Our rear case assembly has realized greatly improved EMC performance compared to our conventional products by using a seamless GND shell structure all around the assembly as well as a unique shield design that covers the inside of the case. Moreover, impedance matching while retaining the ideal coaxial structure at the same time allows excellent reflection characteristics, which, when connected to the small receptacle to be mounted on the camera board (front case), realizes efficient transmission of the next generation high speed digital signals (6Gbps) from SER/DES (SERializers/DEserializers).
The rear case assembly supports custom designs according to the structure of the camera modules and allows easy and correct mating when being assembled with the camera front case. The rear case has a unique and forgiving mating design in which misalignments of up to ±0.5mm horizontally (XY) can be accommodated when connecting the socket and receptacle. Similarly, a misalignment in the vertical (Z) of up to ±0.5 mm can be absorbed.
For waterproofing, a single waterproof structure has been implemented using a sealing gasket, to attain waterproof longevity even in harsh environments. The mating face design on the video output side conforms to ISO20860.
The miniature receptacle uses a multi-point contact GND connection
for better EMC performance, which also contributes to space-saving in
the board-occupied area.
