China Micro Semicon (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Cmsemicon) announced the release of a new Automotive MCU product – the BAT32A233. This product boasts the advantages of small resources, high performance, and support for the hardware LIN2.2 interface, making it highly suitable for compact and flexible parts in automotive applications such as doors, windows, lights, sensors, control panels, and combination switches.

The BAT32A233 is based on the Arm Cortex®-M0+ core, operating at a frequency of 64MHz, with 32KB Flash and 4KB SRAM. It operates at a voltage range of 2.0-5.5V and complies with the AEC-Q100 Grade 1 standard. Compared to similar automotive MCU products, the BAT32A233 further optimizes analog peripheral resources and strengthens hardware support for the LIN2.2 communication interface. It comes in three packaging options: QFN24, QFN32, and LQFP32, making it suitable for automotive applications such as small node execution controllers.

Multi-Protocol, Cost-effective

The BAT32A233 integrates abundant resources to support diverse body control and connectivity applications. It features a built-in high-precision 12-bit ADC @ 1.42 msps, 2 channels of 12-bit DAC, 2 comparators, and 1 programmable gain amplifier (PGA), among other analog peripherals. In terms of connectivity, it offers flexible configurations of 2 UART (UART0/LIN2.0) channels, 1 SPI communication interface, 1 I²C interface, and 1 hardware LIN2.2 interface. It is compatible with the LIN2.x protocol and complies with the SAEJ2602 standard specification, greatly enhancing design flexibility and providing customers with cost-effective and space-efficient solutions.

High Stability, Low Power Consumption

The BAT32A233 provides hardware support for the safe and stable operation of systems. Alongside excellent electrostatic discharge protection and immunity to interference (ESD/EFT), it supports enhanced safety features such as RAM parity check, SFR protection, and CRC. With low interference and strong transfer capabilities, it meets the harsh environment requirements of automotive electronic applications. The BAT32A233 maintains the impressive performance of low power consumption, with a standby mode current as low as 1.50uA. It also supports low-power operating modes, sleep mode, deep sleep mode, and so on.

Development Support

The BAT32A233 development board supports 3.3V/5V power supply switching, facilitating quick product verification for customers.

In the future, the BAT32A233 will support driver libraries compliant with the MCAL standard. Customers can leverage existing hardware debugging tools, development documents, software platforms, and other resources from the BAT32A2 series to initiate project development, achieving rapid compatibility replacement and shortening development time to accelerate product mass production.

The BAT32A2 series from Cmsemicon complies with the AEC-Q100 Grade 1 standard. With the release of the BAT32A233, the series now includes four products – BAT32A233, BAT32A237, BAT32A239, and BAT32A279 – with dozens of part numbers. This effectively expands the coverage of Cmsemicon's automotive MCU applications and contributes to the improved design competitiveness of Tier 1 suppliers and automotive OEMs.

Automotive electronics is an important part of Cmsemicon's future layout. Leveraging its early-mover advantage, Cmsemicon will continue to increase research and development investment to contribute to the development of domestically controllable automotive-grade chips. Currently, Cmsemicon has formed a complete layout for automotive-grade general-purpose MCUs and dedicated SoCs, and higher-performance automotive-grade SoC chips will also be officially released shortly.
