What Are the Differences Between Inverter Filters and Reactors?
What are the differences between inverter filters and reactors? VIIP will take a look at it in detail.
Different in Nature
Inverter filters are filter circuits consisting of capacitors, inductors, and resistors. The inverter filter can effectively filter out the frequency point of a specific frequency on the power line or other frequencies except the frequency point to obtain a power signal of a specific frequency or eliminate the power signal of a specific frequency.
Reactors are also called inductors. When a conductor is energized, it will create a magnetic field in the specific space it occupies, so all electrical conductors that can carry current have a general inductance.
Different Categories
According to the processed signal, the inverter filter is divided into two types: analog filter and digital filter. According to the frequency band of the passed signal, it is divided into five types: low-pass filters, high-pass filters, band-pass filters, band-stop filters, and all-pass filters. Depending on the components used, it is divided into passive and active filters. According to the position of the filter, it is divided into vehicle filter and panel filter.
According to the different structures and cooling mediums, the reactor is divided into hollow type, iron core type, dry type, oil-immersed type, etc. According to the connection mode: divided into parallel reactors and series reactors. According to the function: divided into current limiting and compensation.
According to use: subdivided by specific use, such as current limiting reactor, filter reactor, smoothing reactor, power factor compensation reactor, series reactor, balance reactor, grounding reactor, arc extinguishing coil, incoming line reactor Reactors, export reactors, saturable reactors, self-saturable reactors, variable reactors (adjustable reactors, controllable reactors), yoke reactors, series resonant reactors, parallel resonant reactors, etc.
Different Functions
A frequency converter filter is a frequency selective device that allows certain frequency components in a signal to pass while attenuating other frequency components significantly. Using the frequency selection function of the frequency converter filter, you can filter out interfering noise or perform spectral analysis.
Commonly used reactors in power systems are series reactors and shunt reactors. Series reactors are mainly used to limit short-circuit current, and can also be used in series or in parallel with capacitors in filters to limit higher harmonics in the power grid. Reactors in 220kV, 110kV, 35kV, and 10kV grids are used to absorb the capacitive reactive power of cables. The working voltage can be adjusted by adjusting the number of parallel reactors.
