What are Silicone Sponges, and What are the Types of Silicone Sponges?
Foam is a kind of dustproof, waterproof, shockproof and sealing material widely used in mobile phones, LCD backlights, display screens, notebook computers, automobiles and other fields. Many bubbles are formed on the surface of the foam, and there is air in the bubbles to play a buffering role. Foam is divided into open and closed holes according to the opening and closing of the hole wall. At the same time, it is divided into fast rebound and slow rebound according to the rebound speed.
Foam products have a series of excellent characteristics:
1. Buffer, seal, dustproof, soundproof and waterproof.
2. Stable resilience, thin specifications and low deformation rate.
3. The resilience loss is small during long-term work.
4. The stress is relatively small and the compression ratio is large.
5. Easy to punch, single-sided adhesive (PET).
6. Adhesive can be applied according to user requirements.
7. Low surface contact resistance.
8. The anti-corrosion nickel coating can prevent electrochemical corrosion.

10. It is heat-resistant, not easy to fall off, and has high tensile strength.

Foam is divided into the following types according to different materials:
1. PU foam (polyurethane)
Pu foam is made of foaming polyurethane material.
Conductive foam wraps a conductive cloth on a flame-retardant sponge. After a series of treatments, it has good surface conductivity and can be easily fixed on the device to be shielded with adhesive tape. Shielding materials with different cross-sectional shapes, installation methods, UL ratings, and shielding effectiveness are available.
Conductive foam can be divided into: aluminum foil cloth foam, conductive fiber cloth foam, gold-plated cloth foam, carbon-plated cloth foam, etc.
Aluminum foil foam is made of flexible pure aluminum foil and glass fiber composite aluminum foil cloth instead of conductive cloth to wrap flame retardant foam. The surface impedance is less than or equal to 0.016Ω. It has excellent metal shielding performance, and its temperature resistance can reach 130°C. The lower cost can meet the demand of product cost pressure. Aluminum foil cloth conductive foam has excellent performance, shielding performance exceeds 100db, high elasticity, reduces the conductive resistance of the contact surface and resists corrosion, and improves the compatibility of the connector assembly metal plating.
4. korel foam
Korel (microcellular polyurethane foam) is a high-tech foam produced by the French Saint-Gobain Group with excellent compressibility, high resilience, moisture resistance, and chemical resistance. This foam is divided into the K series and the E series. And it can fully meet a variety of environmental requirements for sealing and energy absorption. Pressure-sensitive adhesive can be applied on one side according to your needs, eliminating your need for adhesive work and having a higher cost performance. PET-FLLM or paper as the supporting surface ensures the flatness of the foam, which is suitable for various die-cutting processes.
Product characteristics: thin specifications, consistent low deformation; excellent cushioning, insulation, dustproof, waterproof, shockproof, energy absorption, heat insulation, sound insulation, and sealing performance. The resilience is stable, and the resilience loss is small during long-term work. The stress is small and the compression ratio is large. Easy to punch, single-sided adhesive. Adhesive can be made according to customer requirements.
