WAYON Launched High-speed CAN Transceivers that Meet AEC-Q100 Standards
CAN is a communication protocol that was developed as a specification by BOSCH in Germany in the early 1980s and standardized in 1993. It allows multiple microcontrollers or devices on a network to communicate directly with each other. It is widely used in various electronic control units in automobiles due to its high expandability and reliability as well as its low cost. In recent years, more and more industries have learned about the benefits of CAN, making it more and more popular. It can be found in control bus designs for automobiles, electric bicycles, industrial control, elevators, security, power, communications, and building automation.
To build CAN-enabled systems quickly, CAN transceivers are required, and WAYON is targeting the fast-growing automotive market with the rapid launch of the WJ1040 and WJ1050 universal high-speed CAN transceiver chips. The specifications WJ1040-AT and WJ1050-AT are expected to be officially released in January 2023. In addition, both components include a number of protection features to improve the device and CAN bus stability.
Product Overview
The WJ1040 (WJ1040-AT) is fully compatible with the ISO11898 standard and can be used in applications employing Controller Area Networks (CAN). As a CAN bus transceiver, the device provides differential transmit and receive capability for CAN controllers. With signal rates up to 1Mbps, this family of devices features a low-power standby mode and the ability to remotely wake up over the bus. WJ1040 is the next level of the WJ1050 high-speed CAN transceiver, which is pin-compatible with the WJ1050 and offers the same excellent EMC performance.
WJ1050 (WJ1050-AT) meets or exceeds the specifications of the ISO 11898 standard and can be used in applications employing Controller Area Networks (CAN). As a CAN transceiver, the device provides differential transmission capability to the bus and differential reception capability to the CAN controller at signal rates up to 1Mbps. The series features a silent mode in which all bus activity is passed from the receiver output to the local protocol controller. Due to the optimal matching of the output signals CANH and CANL, electromagnetic emissions are greatly optimized, improving performance in the absence of a power node.
