Chroma Strikes Again With PEU Test Solution for Vietnamese EV Brand
The electric vehicle (EV) revolution has gradually shifted from developed regions to Southeast Asia. Over the last years, automobile manufacturing and production have skyrocketed in ASEAN member countries, most notably in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Backed by supportive government policies, these countries succeeded to attract investments from international automakers and spur the local development of vehicle and components industries. Especially Vietnam has rapidly opened up to EVs; not only does it aim to phase out fossil fuel vehicles, domestic vehicle brands also envision expanding into international markets.

The carmaker required a test system for their PEU (power electronic unit), which is a popular all-in-one product integrating OBC, DC/DC converter, and PDU.
The many functional items in the PEU that need verification require a combination of test devices. Due to the high complexity, the manufacturer assessed test equipment providers on their quality and technical capabilities. Chroma PEU 8000 ATS covers tests on efficiency, boundary, protection functions, AC charging signals, and CAN communication. The test items encompass major regulations recommended in the industry, such as QC/T 895, GB/T 24347, GB/T 40432, and SAE J2894. Given the many successful applications and high level of integrability, Chroma's test solution was approved by the customer and now controls the quality of their products.
