■“MVB Smart Class 1 EMD-SPI” and “MVB Smart Class 1 EMD-PCIe” are small, compact ‘piggy back’ electronic boards implementing the MVB Class 1 functionalities with a true ‘Electrical Medium Distance’ (‘EMD’) MVB physical interface and ‘SPI’, or ‘PCI express’ (‘PCIe’) serial interface to the main board where is typically installed the control CPU.
■The boards include all resources for a MVB Class 1 ‘EMD’ Interface, excluding the MVB ‘D-Sub’ Connectors and are and form factor compatible.
■The fixing to the main board is through four M2.5 screws and spacers.
■The boards are operating from a single +5 Volt Power Source.
■The connection to the main board is done by two Connectors located on the bottom side of the boards: one for SPI/PCIe signals, control signals and Power supply and one, on the opposite side, for MVB signals.
