■Elara-I module is a compact GNSS module with integrated antenna for operation in location-based applications, products, and services.Based on Qualcomm SirfStar V 5e B01 chipset, it supports two major GNSS constellations(GPS and GLONASS) for fast and accurate positioning.The integrated antenna on top of Elara-I module allows easier hardware integration, as noeffort for antenna integration and matching is required. Compact 10mm x 10mm design al-lows the module to fit in small-size applications. UART, I²C and SPI interfaces are available.This manual provides design guidelines for hardware integration. The module can be operated through one of two available communication protocols:
◆NMEA (standard) and
◆OSP (Qualcomm-proprietary).
■Each of these protocols defines a set of commands for module’s configuration.
■Module’s evaluation board [5] (see Table1) and PC tool [4] allow getting started with themodule and testing its functionalities. The evaluation board also represents our reference design. For further information, please refer to the evaluation board manual [3].
■The module is RED, RoHS, and REACH certified.
