MPC-202 Advanced Fiber Optic Multifunction Polarization Control System
■ The MPC-202 is an advanced Multifunction Polarization Controller specifically designed for polarization testing of coherent detection systems. It combines a high speed version of General Photonics7 PolaRite™ III polarization controller with proprietary control algorithms to achieve a wide range of polarization control functionalities: manual polarization control, polarization function generation/modulation, and polarization scrambling, with peak SOP variation rates for selected functions of up to 360 krad/s. The instrument contains a microprocessor based control circuit packaged in a 2U-height, ¾ -rack size package, as shown in Figure 1. The all-fiber construction polarization controller provides very wide operation bandwidth with low insertion loss, polarization dependent loss, and activation loss.
