NTM88 Dual-Axis Location Angle Project – Software User manual

2021-11-16
This document describes the Tire Pressure Management System (TPMS) NTM88Location Angle XZ dual-axis software version 2.0 designed to run on NXP's TPMS partNTM88H13, which includes dual-axis accelerometers X and Z. The TPMS application software was developed using the CodeWarrior IDE. The purpose of the software is to monitor the angular position of a TPMS device attached to a rotating wheel and to start the transmission of a fixed length RF data packet at a given location so that the end of the packet arrives at the RF receiver when the TPMS device is at a pre-defined target angle location on the wheel. User code can specify one, two, three or four target location angles and, depending on the wheel rotation speed, up to four RF data packets can be transmitted during one full wheel rotation. Initially, the wheel rotation speed is estimated based on the accelerometer Z centripetal acceleration reading. All subsequent TPMS location angle processing is based on accelerometer X data.
This document describes the software that implements the various algorithms used in the project. The algorithms are documented in the complementary NTM88 Dual-Axis Location Angle Project – Algorithms user manual.
The NTM88_LocAngle_XZ project was designed as a reference project with limited performance verification. Users are encouraged to experiment and modify the algorithms and the project code to suit their application requirements.
