In this article, HANSI will introduce the application classification of industrial glue.


Polyurethane type: Polyurethane sealants are mostly one-component, with good adhesion and extensibility. It is a non-corrosive and flexible product that can bond to many substrates, performs well over a wide temperature range, and is resistant to most chemicals and climates.

 

Coating type:

Acrylic type: easy to use, dry in ten minutes at room temperature. It has good electrical and physical properties and is resistant to fungi. Low or no heat release during curing protects thermally sensitive components from damage. Easy to repair.

 

Polyurethane type: has good moisture resistance, chemical resistance, and very good electrical properties. Most one-part polyurethane coatings require careful application and tight control of the coating and curing environment. The polyurethane coating is solderable, and components can be removed with a soldering iron, making repairs easier.

 

Silicone type: high flexibility, high moisture resistance, and fungus resistance. Provides chemical resistance and easy rework. It has very good electrical properties and can also have good thermal properties. Solvent-free silicone coatings can be heat-cured or moisture-cured.

 

UV-Curable Type: Most of the above chemical types can be UV cured. Solvent-free products cure in seconds under UV/Visible light. In addition to acrylic, polyurethane, and silicone-based UV-cured Conformal Coatings, there are epoxy-based and acrylic-modified polyurethane-based UV-cured Conformal Coatings.

 

Potting

Epoxy resin type: One-component or two-component, good adhesion to most substrates, chemical resistance. Has very good electrical properties and cures with virtually no volatile emissions.

 

Silicone type: One-component or two-component, can be 100% solids, very user-friendly. It has high purity, low toxicity, and good weather resistance. The operating temperature is -100 to 60℉ (-37-135℃). Products with good thermal cycle performance are available.

 

Polyurethane type: One-or two-component product with good adhesion to most materials and abrasion resistance. Good electrical properties with high drop strength. Very good low-temperature flexibility, maximum operating temperature is 250℉ (121℃).

 

UV Curable: One or two-part, 100% solids. Cures within 10-20 seconds of exposure to UV or visible light. Fast curing and improved efficiency.

 

Seal

Acrylic: Acrylic sealants bond well to most surfaces and remain malleable when exposed to UV light or other environments. General purpose, used in many outdoor installations. Can be coated after curing.

 

Polysulfide type: one or two components, 100% solids. Very durable, mainly used for the sealing of aerospace and industrial windows. Polysulfide products are resistant to all fumes.

 

Polyurethane type: Polyurethane sealants are mostly one-component, with good adhesion and extensibility. It is a non-corrosive and flexible product that can bond to many substrates, performs well over a wide temperature range, and is resistant to most chemicals and climates.

 

Silicone: is a versatile sealant with the widest operating temperature range (-76℉ to 600℉). One-part silicone moisture cures to form a tough solid. It is a very good general-purpose sealant with good weather resistance, abrasion resistance, moisture resistance, and ozone resistance. Silicone sealants are generally easy to extrude, and easy to handle.
