SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 6, 2015– InvenSense, the leading provider of intelligent sensor solutions, announced at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show the release of six (6) new state-of-the-art microphones to address the needs of the Mobile, Wearable, IoT, Smart TV, and Bluetooth headset markets. InvenSense’s new microphone portfolio enables OEM partners to differentiate their product offerings by improving the consumer experience with increased speech clarity and high-fidelity recordings while reducing the size and remaining cost competitive with today’s existing solutions.

InvenSense introduces the world’s smallest size analog MEMS microphone at 65 dB SNR performance.

ICS-20100 is the world’s smallest MEMS microphone delivering 65dB SNR in a bottom port package and targets mobile electronic devices such as noise-cancelling Bluetooth headsets, smartphones, and in-ear wearable devices. The ICS-20100 achieves its impressively small 4.5mm2 footprint by utilizing the patented and production-proven InvenSense Fabrication Process. The ICS-20100 will be sampling in 1H of CY2015.

InvenSense announces the world’s lowest-power PDM microphone. The ultra-low power ICS-41350 enables the transition of microphones from analog to digital as required by ‘AlwaysOn’ applications in smartphones, tablets, remote controls, smart TVs, Bluetooth headsets, and digital still/video cameras. The ICS-41350 is a multi-mode, low-noise, bottom-ported MEMS microphone in a 3.5mmx2.65mmx0.98mm package. The ICS-41350 offers an exceptionally efficient 175 µA ultra-low power mode, high SNR of 66dB, high Acoustic Overload Point (AOP) of 126dB, and ultrasonic band support for gestures and other creative uses. The ICS-41350 will sample in 1H of CY2015.

InvenSense is also introducing two sets of high-performance analog microphones with matching electro-acoustic performance for both top and bottom port devices.

ICS-40618 and ICS-40619 are matching analog microphones and achieve industry-leading SNR performance of 68dB as well as a high AOP of 132 dB SPL for mobile applications where there is a demand for the highest performance in a constrained size. In the ultra-low power mode when the supply voltage is below 2V, the microphones consume less than 70 µA allowing the longest ‘AlwaysOn’ standby times and best-in-class performance. The ICS-40618 (bottom port) and ICS-40619 (top port) are available for sampling in a small 3.5mmx 2.65mmx0.98 mm surface mount package. The ICS-40618 and ICS-40619 matching solution will be sampled in Q1 of CY2015.

ICS-40180 and ICS-40181 are matching analog microphones providing industry-leading RF immunity performance, SNR of 65dB, extended AOP of 124dB SPL, and excellent acoustic matching response. The solutions enable beamforming which allows end-users to suppress surrounding noise and audio “zoom” into desired conversations. The ICS-40180 (bottom port) and ICS-40181 (top port) dual microphone solutions are available now in a 3.5mmx 2.65mmx0.98mm surface mount package and are targeted for smartphones and slim consumer electronic devices. The ICS-40180 and ICS-40181 matching solution is available now for sampling.

“InvenSense is committed to bringing to market a broad portfolio of disruptive, high-performance, and innovative Audio solutions,” said Ali Foughi, VP of Marketing and Business Development. “By applying numerous MEMS technological breakthroughs, we have developed the industry’s only I²S microphone, the lowest power PDM, ultra-low power analog, the world’s smallest footprint microphone at 65dB performance, and the industry’s leading SNR performance thus enabling our customers to create a differentiated audio experience.”
